This would have been fun to attend: a showing of a restored version of Humberto Mauro’s 1937 film O Descobrimento do Brasil, with a live performance by L’Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse of Villa-Lobos’s music written for the film. Meanwhile, I’m trying to track down a DVD version of the film.
